GTLLO: Hedorah and Deathla by AkityMH GTLLO: Hedorah and Deathla by AkityMH
Name: Hedorah Tadpole/Salamander and Deathla Hagfish
Size: Varies; Polymorphic for Hedorah and Semi-Polymorphic for Deathla
Mass: Varies; Polymorphic for Hedorah and Semi-Polymorphic for Deathla

Powers and Abilities:

Hedorah
-Pollution Eater: Many would think a creature that eats the pollution of man to be a blessed miracle in its own right. Where Hitodah could eat trash and toxic chemicals as an option with no ill effects, Hedorah’s entire diet consists of nothing but smog, sludge, chemicals, oils such as gasoline, and tar. Pretty much everything inorganic by means of any known organism is a buffet for the blob-like creature. Oddly enough, Hedorah also has taste for Hitodah Starfish which it regularly “farms” tearing the starfish apart to let new ones grow, and feeds on for its own pollutants.
-Toxic Excretion: Hitodah’s by product was creating a toxic enzyme as a waste. Hedorah is about the same. However, its waste is even more deadly. The substance is a highly concentrated form of sulfuric acid unknown to earth. Instead of releasing its by-product through excretions after eating, Hedorah stores it as a weapon and uses it to the fullest advantage against foes. It can rapidly eat through exposed flesh and damage almost all known metals, including stainless steel.
-LaZer Eye: The LaZer Eye an energy beam that is fired from Hedorah’s larger eyeball. Its theorized that the eye is bigger so it can hold the light producing apparatus to cause the beam to fire out. The beam is hot, accurate, and can eat through rock with general ease; let alone flesh.
-Polymorphic: Hedorah seems to have little to no solid structure. In fact, Hedorah can separate into several smaller forms of itself as if every part of it is a living creature. The only thing resembling true solid structure is condensed gelatinous mass into a pseudo-structure. So instead of remaining a blob with nearly no form, Hedorah takes in foreign objects; mainly metal, to create a artificial skeleton for itself to stand on. It uses its acidic qualities to bend and push metal into various forms; such as a rib cage. The ability to do this came soon after it encounter Junior, almost like its trying to copy the dinosaurs anatomy.
A final note on being Polymorphic is that Hedorah can reconstruct its whole body, if there is enough of it alive and not dehydrated into oblivion.
-Radiation Immunity: Due to Hedorah’s unique structure of inorganic properties, radiation does not harm him. This leaves Atomic Breath of any Godzilla generally useless as far as exploding on contact and causing radiation damage like on so many other foes near and completely useless outside of slightly dehydrating Hedorah’s flesh out.

Deathla
-Pollutant & Flesh Eater: Deathla is almost identical to Hedorah, being very similar to each other in almost every way possible. Naturally, this creature eats pollution as well. However unlike Hedorah, over half Deathla’s diet consists of living creatures that it actively absorbs and assimilates. Other then eating the occasional Hitodah, this creature actively attacks anything from humans to large marine life. This creature’s a pile of pulsating flesh; half alive and being slowly consumed by Deathla as time goes by. It’s this diet of living creatures that may have been the reason he diverged from the rest of the Hedorah Tadpoles and into a entirely new organism all together.
-Biohazard Excretion: Being so close related to Hedorah, another power that is shared is the toxic by product of eating. Yet unlike Hedorah, the by product is a natural stew of bacteria and various microbes that naturally break down living tissues. In way, its worse that Hedorah since this rotting mass of flesh can even end up harboring mutated diseases and virus’s. Almost immediately on contact, living tissue will be suffer burn-like wounds that is the result of Deathla’s own flesh eating at foreign tissue.
-Semi Polymorphic: Where Hedorah is nearly all blob and no structure, Deathla is not. From its diet, Deathla has a bone structure thanks to the intake of calcium from devouring bones, even if it changes constantly… This gives Deathla the ability to reconstruct its bone structure and flesh to suit the situation at a certain extent. However, enough nutrition required to do so. A favored a favored tactic is to extend a tendril of flesh and bone out like a long whip to strike and impale foes.
A final note on being polymorphic; is that Deathla can reconstruct himself from small amounts of his remaining flesh. Even less then it would take Hedorah to recover. Truly it seems Deathla is the far worse of the two creatures.

Bio and History
Out of all monsters to appear on earth, Hedorah and Deathla are probably within the top five creatures that should have never existed. If Godzilla was the side effect of nuclear fallout, Destroyah the result of Micro Oxygen, and Hitodah the result of further carelessness of mans existence… then Hedorah and Deathla represented both sides of the same coin when it comes to the fully realized devastation of the human race.

After being gone for so many years, Mothra was returning to earth. With earth in sight, the guardian was pleased to be home. Unfortunately for her, she was already weak from the flight into the cold depths of space and unknowns to her, she was carrying what can only be described as “seeds of life” as one could say. The meteor coming toward earth was home to countless microbes that were as old as time itself, dormant within the asteroid that was on a collision with the planet.
Passing earths moon, another force was watching. She was almost home free when Mothra was struck by an arc of energy that coiled around her body. To exhausted to fight back against her assailant, Mothra’s unconscious body plummeted toward earth…

At the last moment, the Cosmos escaped the fate of crashing along with Mothra with there mystical power and landed safely back onto earth. Unfortunately, Mothra did not wake up… She continued to fall into the earths atmosphere. Friction burned her body and her wings shredded.
After a long fall, Mothra crashed with all the force of gravity into the bay of Japan…

Mothra’s body sank and with it, the microbes. Warm water revived them and they scattered through out the polluted bay. It wasn’t long until they adapted to there new home. They were small at first. Only the size of a tiny shrimp… but they grew as they ate. Not only did they grow, they were merging together as well into a larger form. The creature that would be called “Hedorah”, The Smog Monster.
All except one.
One tadpole grew different. The creature “Deathla” found its bread and butter not just in form of eating toxins, but absorbing anything from fish to marine mammals.

The world was oblivious to the invaders at first. Deathla kept low. Hedorah on the other hand, kept on eating its way through the tainted soup that was Tokyo Bay. Naturally it was Hedorah that became well known when his ventures outside of the bay. Passing ships began to report a strange, oil black creature tailing in the wake of there ships. Hedorah had made it a habit of following tankers and ocean liners, feeding on the oil trails left behind. Naturally this did not soothe he creatures hunger for pollutants.
Soon after, Hedorah began to attack boats instead of just following them around like a lost puppy. The first few attacks came to small privately owned fishing boats, which soon escalated to larger targets in the form of at least one oil tanker and several other large watercraft.

All the while, Deathla wasn’t far behind. No one knew of Deathla’s existence, yet. Instead of dragging attention to itself, the red menace kept from sight and only attacked what Hedorah attacked soon after; claiming the human bodies from the wrecks and leaving no survivors.

After one too many attacks, all watercraft was banded from the waters until Hedorah was destroyed. All the waters around the bay area were ceased, leaving the sludge monster and its cryptic brother without a preferred line of prey.
Yes, Tokyo Bay was polluted beyond any earthly life to exist, but the sea diluted it into a soup. Humans on the other hand held such concentrations of what Hedorah wanted. Oil, smog producing machines, smoke, chemical plants, and various other places that had every ounce of nutrition for a pollution eating monster.

If the food wasn’t being served up, then Hedorah was going to walk into the kitchen and get it himself right out of the frying pan.

Deathla did not follow Hedorah when the smog monster came ashore one black, moonless night. Where as Hedorah’s taste was for what humans produced, Deathla preferred a more organic diet.
Once again, Shizuoka was unfortunate target. Dead of night and with no warnings at all, Hedorah exploded from the sea, plopping onto the concrete bank of the industrial port of the bay like a glob of muck.
The first victims were a few shipping vessels. Every drop of gasoline, oil and form of machinery lubrication was drained dry. Some of the metal was taken from the ships, the missing pieces caught up in the disgusting creature’s body.
By now the entire city was in alert. Sirens went off, evacuations being done, and military being pulled in. Not that it helped. Hedorah never left the industrial district.
Ripping up sewer pipes and sucking on them like a bottle, he stopped to marvel at two giant smoke stacks coming up out of a paper mill. It dropped the pipes and clambered atop the building, virtually destroying it with his weight. If not crushing it to smithereens, the near constant overflow of sludge at the very least ruined everything else.
The mouth opening engulfed the stacks and the release of smog ceased flowing into the air. All of it was now going into Hedorah’s gut. Or at least the closest thing it had to a stomach. Content and at peace, Hedorah’s eyes closed as it enjoyed its meal. Taking all this in, Hedorah was slowly expanding and growing…

Almost doubling in size, its meal was cut short when a focused beam of atomic energy struck Hedorah in the back. Eyes jumping awake, the smog monster righted itself up as sparks flew from its body and small pieces blown off its mass. Hedorah turned back to its attacker.
Godzilla Junior had come. Rising out of the sea and onto the concrete ground, Junior roared in challenge of this odd creature.
Hedorah cried back in a throaty, frog-like croak. Upon each lob that faintly resembled hands, three long rusted metallic claws stretched out. Again, it croaked at the dinosaur in it’s own invitation of a challenge. Right now, Hedorah’s size was dwarfed. Even when he tried standing up, he was only neck high with the saurian.

Junior fired another atomic blast, directly striking the monster chest. A storm of sparks exploded from it, making the abomination recoil. Yet for the blast hitting hard, Hedorah was completely fine. Some of its sludgy flesh flaked off, but otherwise there was no damage.
This never happened before to Junior. His father, yeah, against Mechagodzilla… But this was new to him. Alright then, if blasting it wont work, then he would just tear it apart like he did to Hitodah.
Junir trudged forward, the man-made rock cracking under his feet as he came at Hedorah. He stopped short when Hedorah wheezed and gagged, finally hacking up a glob of its insides right into the Godzilla’s chest. Immediately Junior backed up, growling in slight pain… then great pain. Junior shrieked loudly as he clawed at the glob of sludge on his chest. The flesh underneath was badly burned and damaged; to the point his own claws were ripping it off. Now that he was clawing at it, his fingers and hands burned too.

Hedorah was seemingly laughing. That is, if its loud and gargled croaks could be called laughing. This enraged young Junior and made him come again with all the force of an angry Godzilla had. Naturally Hedorah panicked and tried to run and get away. Unfortunate for him, Junior was already on him. Junior brought a claw down into the soft sludgy body. The claws went in with easy and so did all of Junior’s arm! This thing wasn’t even a solid body! His arm went completely through Hedorah’s body and out the other side.

It wasn’t five seconds until Junior pulled his arm back out, crying out in extreme pain. All of his arm was burning. Scaly skin seemingly burned away into thin air and muscle underneath exposed.
While Junior was crying out in pain, Hedorah turned back and threw himself right into his attacker. The rusted metal that made up the claws were dull and rugged; painfully cutting deep into the dinosaurs flesh.

Screeching in pain, Junior began clawing at pollution creature with no success. Every push and pull just easily tore up the creature. There was almost no way to get a firm hold on this living gelatinous mass.
Every moment Hedorah kept in contact, the more its acidic excrement burned at Junior’s body. All of the stored acidic pollution that Hedorah had stored up to this point was being released and drenching the unfortunate kaiju.
Much of Junior’s body was now badly burned and most of his muscle was showing. Even the muscle was beginning to be dissolved as well. Even Godzilla himself wouldn’t have lasted too much more against this.

As another claw dug into the gooey body, Junior found something solid to grab hold of. With a powerful heave, Junior lifted Hedorah off his body and threw the creature hard to the ground. Far from done with this one, Junior reached down again and grabbed hold of its tail; finding something metal once more.
He heaved up, pulling Hedorah high into the sky and back down on the opposite side. Again he pulled to the side, slamming the blobby creature into a building. Pieces of Hedorah splattered in every direction with the acidic properties eating into everything from iron warehouses, to the concrete that made up there foundation.
With one more pull, Junior successfully sent Hedorah airborne across the industrial distract and into a petroleum plant. Normally this would be good for Hedorah since he would eat the petroleum products. However his crash head first into it ignited the flames and caused a violent explosion. Fire and heat boomed in every direction. Hedorah was engulfed. Pieces of its body were scattered in all direction, landing thousands of feet away.

Hedorah scrambled out of the fire, burned and dried. It was far smaller then before, only a quarter of its old size. The first thing it wished to do was head for the water an almost made it. Only a few feet from the bay, Junior brought his foot down, literally, on its tail end. A lot of its acidic property was burned up or used, so his foot did not suffer any burns. Hedorah turned and clawed with what little remained of its metallic nails, but they barley did anything other than annoy him.

Junior reached down to finish the creature off. At the last second, Hedorah tore away half of its body, the front part and head falling into the sea.

Frustrated, Junior started to blast his Atomic Breath into the waters several times. Nothing but water and steam.

After all that, Junior was nearly at his end. Bone was exposed by now by the remaining acid. Much muscle was destroyed. Even a creature such as a Godzilla had its limits. Even worse, Junior still had injuries from Hitodah only weeks before. Old healing wounds were opened and worsen.
With effort, Junior once again slid into the sea. After that a long recovery time was going to be needed. With luck, maybe the telepaths will not need to call for him again.

But… they would.

Every part piece that feel of Hedorah stirred and writhed. Following there silent call, each piece began moving on its own. Hedorah was going to return one day, bigger and stronger than ever.

Echoing the events, Deathla still swam in the farther north near Hokkaido with the world still unknowns to his existence. The possibly worst pair of monsters in earths history alive and well, growing, for the day they made this world their own…

------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think its possible to have a Godzilla series of any sort, size or any type of logic(being realistic or "Magic, Bitch") without the horrors of Hedorah's existence. The plot is just near perfect. Shame the movie was LCD induced and silly...

Now I brought Hedorah in and Deathla, too, as brothers. For those of you who don't know(and a lot of G-Fans do know) Deathla was a red, pollution monster that was going to be made for Godzilla 3-D, which was never made and now Legendary is STIIILLL working on.
Now given Deathla was never really given any specifics on what it was, could do, etc.... I decided to throw my own idea of what the creature was.

On both, I think I did good. Hedorah hasn't been drasticly changed... I mean, how much could you ever revamp a blob monster into something "new". That's like taking The Blob, as in THEE blob, and saying you redesigned it. Not much you can do at all...

Oh and ya, where they came from. "Seeds of Life" is just something I came off the top of my head. I always thought it was weird how microbial life could even survive on earth, let alone adapt to a polluted environment and become a brand new creature. I know the movie and everyone's take on Hedorah hints that it came from a truly polluted planet where it fits in, but no, I say fuck that. Good idea, but my turn to take a version on it.
So, I decided to make up "Seeds of Life" which may or may not be explained further... its Godzilla, not everything is explained anyway.

Oh and... yeah, I killed off Mothra. Ballsy me killed off Mothra. Before anyone busts a gear, chillax. Won't say why, but maybe you can guess.

Enjoy.

I've gotta say, even though it's not meant to be his truly final form, that's one of the coolest Hedorah redesigns I've ever seen. The quadrupedal form works way better for him than I'd have thought- it really conveys that heavy, oozy "living heap" feeling he's supposed to give off. Not entirely sure how I feel about his eyes here, but the small mouth buried in his face and the claws made of scrap metal and boats are brilliant. Nicely done.

Ooo DH, what a pleasant drop by. Thank you!
I never though Hedorah would have taken off so well. I never though Hitodah would either, interestingly enough. Even if some don't entirely agree with my version Godzilla Junior, at least I now I'm doing good on the rest of the entries.

Its also interesting enough that you partly inspired this particular series. After your Gamera bios, I wanted to do something similar. I went through about a month or two on decided Ocean Hunter or something else... then this smacked me in the face.

Again, thank you, and I hope you stick around for further Hesei continuations.

As you said, kinda hard to design a blob, but you did a damned good job with these two. Hedorah kinda reminds me of a mix of Jaba-the Hutt and Hexas from 'Fern Gully' and I know I heard that song playing in my head when he was pigging out in Japan, just so many laughs to be had.

Loved that kitchen line by the way, pure win.

Oh and killing Mothra off? She's died in every movie she co-stared in with the exception of four that I can remember.

The story was well done, did a bloody epic job on the fight, what I really liked was Hedorah was still feeling out it's powers and was for the most part scared of Godzilla, at least until it realized that Junior couldn't directly hurt it, which caused the monster to grow bolder.

Not that it would care, Hedorah has no gender after all and could shape itself to be either the ugliest thing alive or the most stunning, but it clearly doesn't give a damn.

So I take it we'll be getting an updated design of Hedorah's and Deathla's final forms. I like this new origin of theirs and Juniors struggle to deal with the abomination on his own, using Hedorah's attempts to make himself sturdier against him.

Yes. I figured instead of throwing all the forms on one page, save them for later, and the final events of Hedorah and Deathla.
And thank you. Its nice to I'm handling something like this so well when everyone else is done it so much that it needs to die.

I WAS gonna growl about Hedorah being so stumpy and dwarfish but after reading the bio and the allusion that he'd get a second more powerful performance later, I was satisfied with the way it was handled. Rather than just rushing through the stages we get a battle, a period of cool down time and a later final confrontation after Junior has had a few more encounters under his belt.

By the way, you might want to assess Junior's eventual need for nuclear energy as with the amount he's been injured, he's probably starving for fuel about now to help him heal. If humanity really wants to forge a lasting relationship with Junior, they might think about doing what Japan did in one particular story and feed him nuclear energy.

Stumpy and Dwarfish? He looks small?
But thank you, again. I'm sure you'll like much of Godzilla: The Legend Lives On entries. At least most of them >.> I'm pretty sure Gabara will be iffy for everyone.

Will do. Next profile I'll get started on that part of the relationship. Even since our first convo on that, I been planning things to give more depth to the ongoing story.
In fact, history just might end up repeating itself. Seems to be a theme with kaiju. "Make a new Godzilla to fight Ghidora. Oh shit, make another Ghidora! Aw fuck, another godzilla!" As a nerd once said, they keep on fucking themselves.
