GTLLO: Godzilla Junior

Powers and Weapons:
-Atomic Breath: Like his father before him and like all Godzillasaurus, Junior breaths a focused beam of pure radiation.
-G-Cell Regeneration: All kaiju have cells with similar properties. As in, the cells repair themselves at an alarming and almost impossible rate. Most injuries do not even last a day upon Junior’s body, or any kaiju for that matter of fact.
-Phenomenal Strength: For Junior’s lightweight body compared to his adoptive father, he has every bit of muscle power as before.
-Agile and Nimble: Junior is far lighter then all previous known Godzilla specimens. Jumping, running, climbing, and even digging is well known to him. Speculated he is so light because he is still a relatively young individual, despite being an adult now.
-Light Telepathy: Junior always had a telepathy link with his father and Rodan. To this day, he can sense thought patterns of other beings that have such abilities as to communicate by though, humans included.
-Marine Dinosaur: A natural born swimmer and able to breath underwater. Able to swim at a high speed of 80-knots.

Bio and History
Eight years… Eight long and agonizing years have past since the day of requiem came. Burning like the heart of a star, Godzilla’s life had ended alongside the ultimate monster, Destroyah.

Of course it all really started over fifty years ago during the atomic-age when nuclear weapons came to exist. If only humanity could have foreseen the fate that the bombs would spawn. Only years after the first two bombs decimated Nagasaki and Tokyo, a third one came. Not in the form of a plane or a missile, but a living dinosaur that was awoken and irradiated by the nuclear energy.
After the horrors that outranked the bombings, the monster known as Godzilla, was destroyed by Dr. Serizawa’s invention, the Oxygen Destroyer. A weapon that at a later date would also bring another monster to existence.
Thirty years later, Godzilla returned alive and well. No one wanted to believe it could have been a second animal. The though of more Godzilla monsters was unbearable.
Many years would pass and Godzilla would have been there for everything from being a force of nature that seemed to have a vendetta against humanity, to a warring enemy, and eventually a hero in his own right when he brought an end other monsters that held an even greater threats to the entire planet.

For all the chaos caused, perhaps Godzilla was more good then given credit. Adopting a young Godzillasaur, he raised the next generation to adulthood with his dying breath.

After Junior absorbed much of his fathers leftover radioactivity, Junior left the now ghost-city of Tokyo. He would not be seen for years.

The current year is 2004 and much has changed for the country of Japan after the events of 1996. Tokyo is now a barren wasteland that no healthy life exists. The only purpose that the once bustling city harbors now is a landfill for every ounce of japans garbage. Since radiation lasts longer then any mortal, it seems fitting. For over one-hundred miles, it is forbidden for any citizen or civilian to enter the hazard zone. Even Tokyo Bay was a virtual soup of poisons and pollution from the run off on the land.

Godzilla Jr., or just Junior as he is normally addressed, was back on the radar only four years after disappearing. The monster had not made land fall once, but was well active enough. For years now the entire military have tracked him in fears that he would walk his surrogate parents footsteps and begin to destroy Japan’s cities all over again. Yet, the pandemonium never came.

It wasn’t until recently that several telepathic children were discovered, who told of how “Godzilla”, that is Junior, did not see humanity as a threat as his father did. Godzilla recognized humans when they antagonized him long ago. Back on Lagos Island when the American Soldiers attacked him, again in 1994 when he was exposed to the nuclear radiation that painfully turned him into the monster he was, and ever since. Attacking cities was just second nature to the dinosaur.
But Junior, on the other hand… Junior was born in the presence of humans. Affiliation with them led to a tolerance and eventually after the events of Destroyah’s attack and his fathers death, found humans to be friend; not foe.

So one day, the Prime Minister asked the psychic children to call on Junior, if he really was a friend, to come to Japan’s shore Hokkaido in Northern Japan.
And he did.

Junior came and did not attack, even with all the military present.
So at long last after all the years, Junior was redeemed of his fathers legacy as a human savior as of 2003. Not a moment too soon, either… Soon Japan would be subjected again to the terrors of Dai-Kaiju…

I could not hold off starting the series for long. Once I got the idea, it stuck!

Ladies and gentleman, give you the first of my new series; Godzilla: The Legend Lives On.

Following the events of the Hesei Series of Godzilla movies, the story picks up with Junior eight years later, who is only a subadult still and taking a liking to humanity.

I got the idea that since Junior was basically raised by humans at first and ever since been around them, that he took a liking to them. This introduces some of the theme from the Showa movies, were Godzilla is the hero of humanity and defends it as well as the earth itself. So despite the already dark tone of Hesei, my continuation will also have a lighter tone to it as well.

Now I want to talk about the design. I want to start by saying that I wanted to make Junior distinctively different from his old man. After much consideration and batting ideas around with a friend or two, this the design I feel on.
Light weight, a li'l upright standing, a paddle shaped tail, and short horns on each eyebrow for some reason felt right to me.
Now I know that the end of Godzilla vs Destroyah, Junior looks like his father did. Well... Ya know... He's still young. I think he should have looked different enough like he did in the last two movies before GvD.
Hate the design if you want, but a lot of people agree that a lighter Godzilla build would be interesting.
As well, I made him look friendlier. Somewhat big-ish eyes and a content looking face.

If you still don't like it... Well, no one series is perfect. Meh.

Now that I have started the series, I imagine a lot of you are interested to see what monsters I have chosen for the lineup. Well, there are some classics that will have(at least in some cases) a drastically different story-line from the Showa series.

But I will give you one tip to a highly anticipated file. Mothra. How? Well she will show up soon enough and when she does, I think you will all be pretty happy with what happens.
