Description

Stats

Name: Lily
Alias: The Source
Height: Holds about 70 Meters
Length: Varies with a general 150 Meters
Weight: 25,000 tons
Means of Locomotion: Crawling
Rank: 2

Abilities:

-Toxic Fluid: From the nectar and pollen to the very essence of life within her body, Lilly is poisonous to the core and its fatal to almost every creature on the planet, save for a few select creatures such as the Cyanide Wasps that thrive in Slor’s fur, and Slor himself who tends to make a habit out of eating her leaves(which she doesn’t seem to mind). The poison itself is very much like cyanide mixed with morphine. The first affects can be described as a euphoric high, followed by lose of motor skills before experiencing nightmarish delusions before failure of major organs. Most common death occurrence is when the heart or lungs fail. There is a cure made for the poison, so it isn’t very dangerous to humans.

-Thorny Tendrils: Thanks to the DNA donation from the Rose family, she has the ability to sprout thick and tough thorns from her body. Yes, she can grow thorns and retract them at any given time before force of will. Any part of her body(Save for the flowers) can sprout them. Sometimes she can turn herself into a fortress of thorny power, preventing physical blows from most enemies.

-Exploding Fruit: Lily’s base DNA is that of Passionflowers. This has lead not only to her toxic capabilities, but bearing fruit as well. The fruit, while carrying seeds, can be used as a weapon. Turns out she can cause the fruits to explode by what seems to be willpower. That’s the theory, anyway. It can’t be proven nor disproved, and it’s the only theory that qualifies among the rest. Slor himself doesn’t seem to care for the fruit, either.

-Cotton Roots: Another donor of DNA came from an arboreal plant that lives high in the treetops of South America. From this, Lily has several vines that lead down into a soft, cotton-like and sticky tendril that is very porous and light. From these, she can quickly sap water and nutrients from anything she touches with them. A very useful adaptation given she is semi-mobile. These vines can also be a powerful attack. They are so efficient at drawing out water and nutrients that animals can be sapped of water by touching the surface of these roots. Many thought she would turn carnivorous from this trait, but so far she has refrained from attacking any living animals out of predation.

Weaknesses:

-Humidity: Lily is a tropical plant and needs a vast amount of water of nutrients that needs to stay well hydrated at almost all times. As such, she can not spend much time out of her element. What is worse is that there is a flammable oil in her vines that can smolder even after flames have already died on her body. From this, Lily can not be moved around as efficiently as any of the other Guardians. Thankfully she doesn’t have to be, since she isn’t exactly needed for fighting.

Personality: Far as anyone can tell, Lily has little to no personality as being a plant that only tends to react to being attacked, or simply moving to a more profitable spot that offers better nutritional ground. Outside that, Lily stays as still as plants do, only moving ever so slightly to grow. However, she is capable of far more complex thinking and thoughts, given how many nerves are within her body. One thing is for certain; and that’s the family that revolves around her that consist of Slor, his wasp hive, Pauley, and Don Bluth. Thought according to Don, she doesn’t say anything…

History:
Dr. Heiss’s Notes
“Lily was a very early attempt to splice DNA. Cross pollinating plants was easy, done every day to make new kinds of fruit. Unlike making an embryo of an animal, making the seed pod was far too easy. Once we planted it, it grew, and grew… and well, surprise, it grew more.
We crossed several tropical plants, and some temperate plants as well to make the first plant monster on record. Even in the wild, there were no plant kaiju. I find that curious given how wild some of these impossible monsters exist. Either way, we made a new species by crossing Passion Flower, Rose, some tropical arboreal plants, Milkweed, and that of Momosa pudica(the sensitive plant).
Our resulting monster stood as a sort of symbol to what we could do. She didn’t bother us, and we barley bothered her. The only bad incident is when some of our co-workers accidentally touched her roots and lead to near death experiences. No one died, thank the heavens. But we had no idea where this was heading and how important Lily would become as we continued our research. “

August 12, 2020
Following Dr. Heiss still, Marian found herself being led outside of the complex and into the island. There was much green here, too, but what she didn’t notice that most of this green was actually massive vines. By the time she noticed, she was already out the door and into the presence of the first Guardian on the tour.
She stared in awe at the massive flower that towered above them. Of course there were other flowers, but none quite as massive or vibrant as the one that stood tallest in the sky. “Wow, that’s a big flower.”
“Quite. This is Lily, our little prodigy as like to call her. The first Guardian.”
Both walked along the walkway, taking in the plants beauty and size. “So this is her? She doesn’t look that much, considering all the hype.”
“Well, she isn’t,” Heiss confirmed. “But when it comes to what she offers to the other Guardians, she is very profitable. Her pollen and fluids are toxic, and she can be quite aggressive to attackers.” While they walked, they came across a vine that laid across there path. Casually, Heiss gave it a firm kick. “Lily, move.” Responding to the command, the vine slowly began move and pulling away, taking some of the flooring with. It rose up in S-shape position before again becoming inanimate, standing up almost like sickly tree.
Marian was stunned. “Wow… that’s something.”
“That’s nothing,” he seemingly corrected her. “There is far more that us just as amazing.”
Before walking got them too far, she noticed something flying a round in the air around the mass of vines. She couldn’t make out what they were, so she stopped to stare. “What are those?”
Heiss looked up. “Oh those. Those are the Cyanide Wasps”
“You made yet another Guardian? I thought there were only four you made.”
“Well,” he began, “We did. These wasps are something we did not intend. Believe it nor, they just appeared one day not too long after we made Slor, another Guardian. We ain’t sure how exactly, but we believe Lily’s nectar and Slor’s own existence had some how mutated an unknown species into them. They live in Slor’s fur.”
“Slor is another Guardian you made?,” she asked curiously.
“Indeed. Nothing to be afraid of. The wasps don’t really pay any mind to us. I suppose they don’t see us as a threat. There hasn’t been a single incident with them.”
“Can you control them?”
“No,” he replied. “They don’t quite listen to us… But they do tend to protect all the Guardians. Save for one of them. And they tend to listen to Slor, if you can call it ‘listening’.” In his explanation, he noticed that Marian looked worried. “What troubles you?”
She didn’t take her eyes off the plant. “This plant, these insects… they might be trouble. I can imagine Lily growing big enough to overtake forests. Or those wasps spreading, and if what you say is true, there is an unknown mutagen that might spread and create other monsters.”
“Hmm…” Heiss shrugged. “We will try to monitor for such a possibility, but I assure you, there is nothing to worry about.”

As he explained, one of the many wasps landed on one of the flowers. It had such a unique body. It resembled almost nothing else on the planet, other then just being labeled as a “Bug”. Actually, it looked quite a bit like Parywiggins in some features. Still, it resembled only so much before looking totally alien.
It lapped the nectar around the flower while at the same time gathering the pollen on its legs. Quick as it was there, it was flying off and out of sigh.

“I thought Lily was toxic?”
“She is, but the Cyanide Wasps seem to be immune to it. Slor is likewise immune.”
“Are we meeting Slor next?,” hopefully, since he talked so highly of Slor.
“As a matter of fact, we are,” he cheerfully pointed out. “I think you’ll like him. He’s a rather… I guess, cute? If you can call a sloth cute.”
“Cute…” she was unconvinced. “A sloth? Surely a sloth ain’t that productive of a fighter.”
“Oh,” he responded and went on with, “But I think you will be surprised to eat your own words.”

I decided "What the hell, get it over with".

Lily is a unique subject... When most people make Plant-Kaiju, many use carnivorous plants. Flytraps, Pitcher Plants... most creative was TT's Ullawdra as it was alien and yet fit so damn well.
That in mind, going into this was going to be different.

Lily isn't anything spectacular and flashy like an alien flytrap or a mutant accident like Godzilla's Biollante. She's just a shambling mass of vines, leaves, flowers and fruit... Not the most creative angle to go it, but stable none the less.
Her base design is the famous Passion Flower, which far as to my knowledge, no one as EVER kaijufied. Great start, but I also added in some tree-dwelling weeds that have have specialized roots, and of course a few other plants that are less unique.

If it wasn't for Lilly, the Guardians would not exist as of now, or of this group of Kaiju. Course, Slor also contributed to that in a way, but shes the general base of the group.

I feel accomplished, with the picture and the creature. The profile is short, but with a plant that just sits there most of the time, that's expected.

So up next is Slor, stay tuned.

Pretty cool plant kaiju, I like her design. Simple, but effective.
