Stats

Name: Vastrato(Vas-Stra-Toe)
Alias: The Great Wandering Crocodile
Taxonomic Name: Immensuserror suchus (Vast Wandering Crocodile)
Length: Generally 170 meters from nose to tip of tail
Quadruped Height: 45 meters
Bipedal Height: Generally 90 meters
Weight: 31,000 tons
Means of Locomotion: Walking, swimming, and galloping
Alignment: Neural
Rank: 2

Abilities

-Elasticity: Vastrato’s most notable ability is her elastic body that can stretch to incredibly extents, allowing her to do things that are simply out of this world. Able to literally turn around and chew on her own hindquarters if she so desired. Able to extend her body length to over two-hundred and fifty meters, and even coil around large structures and enemies. Also able to suck in vast amounts of air and water until she can no longer move. She can even use the rubbery power to open her jaw almost to one-hundred and ninety degrees.
It however, has its limits. Her arms and legs tend to have less of a elastic qualities due to the fact she has thick armored shell like plates that can not stretch. Another limit is her own body. Despite having somewhat rubbery bones and muscle, some are less elastic then others. Such as her skull.

-Super Suction: Extendable skin and muscle has its advantages. Such as sucking in vast amounts if air. By expanding her stomach and stomach area, Vastrato can turn herself into a vacuum, and a powerful one at that. Able to pull buildings apart if they are close enough. Such a technique can be useful in catching prey, or gathering materials of any sort.

-Hurricane Wind: Only after sucking in great amounts of air can this powerful show of force be displayed. Vastrato can send a virtual beam of wind and small debris, tearing apart buildings, structures and even sending rather large flat on there ass, or even airborne.

-Rocky Skin: The strangely elastic skin is also strangely tough. Its almost on the border of every day rock. To another giant monster, it is just like hard leather and difficult to really penetrate without some great amount of force and/or sharpness.

-Omni-ped: Something that almost no crocodile has, and puts Vastrato’s ancestry into great question, is her ability to walk as a four legged animal, and a two legged one. It gives her a edge in intimidation and power, as she can simply rear up on her rear legs and bring herself down weight and all, claws ready.
Although, she is very clumsy on her back legs and can’t exactly be quick as she would on all four limbs.
While on all fours, she can gallop at a rather quick pace for her size and weight.

Weaknesses

-Soft Inners: Vastrato’s inner mouth and internal body is actually rather soft and vulnerable. It leaves her at a great disadvantages when sucking in air, as attacks or weapons can easily damage her. As it is her main form of attack, the threat of being harmed is almost constant.

-Tail: Most of Vastrato’s total length, at least half, is her huge tail. While it’s a good tool to swim and a powerful weapon, it can get in the way and slow her down sometimes. Even tripping over it if she isn’t paying attention enough.

-Lazy Grump: Without even studying, its not hard to tell that Vastrato isn’t somewhat lazy and fowl tempered creature. It isn’t hard at all to discourage her from fighting, or irritated enough to fight. It leaves her prone to walk into traps. More likely, to just give up from a fight or not fight hard enough. It just tends to become a very large problem in any situations.

-Cold: Being elastic, cold temperatures will cause her elastic skin to become hard and fracture, even break like glass. Its painful and dangerous. Avoiding temperatures under 50-degrees is a mandatory routine.

Personality: Vastrato is often observed to be in every sense of the word, a slightly lazy and irritable creature. Her entire decisions usually happen upon her grumpy nature and/or her sloth like nature. Where she is most conferrable laying out on some shoreline, she can be easy enough to pick a fight with and once a reasonable situation is at hand, she can use strong common sense with a mix in of her own reptilian instinct.
She is smart, as far as learning from mistakes and problem solving. Yet, she can be irrational about things depending on how irritated she can become. Angry is the wrong term.
Most of the time on the other hand, she is very pleasant and quiet. A good way to describe her is a very laid back Alligator that can have slight tantrums if the right buttons can be pressed. It is wise to say that she is best left at peace.
Her strongest instinct of all, is her drive to protect the planet. A monster that has powerful need to shield nature with all the power she can muster. This explains why she constantly wanders the earth, never staying in one place for far too long. She has no set territory… the planet IS her territory and she will protect it with tooth, claw and at any cost. Save for artic regions.
She is somewhat sympathetic and understanding of other creatures of the planet, humans and other monster alike. It’s a big world, it can be shared. More or often, she wont pick fights or go on the warpath without a reason, such as being attacked first. Making competitive allies and neighbors is just another day of life.

History: In ancient past, when humanity was still young and growing, the world recognized great monstrous creatures that made myth and legend we know today. Whether or not they existed, is a complete mystery. Science says such creatures can never exist, that is no evidence. Beasts such as the Dragons and Sea-Serpents… Gryphon’s and Chimeras… Giants and Golems. The list of creatures that science never recognize continues as far as today with generic creatures such as the Sasquatch and Nessie.
Is it common sense to deny existence to monsters? Things that some people claim to see? Maybe its just that hard to believe.
Or maybe… its fear. Afraid to admit such a thing could exist.

In the Year 2014 The world of man discovers more every day. Advancements in technology make what was fantasy into fact and things that were though once impossible are now in the realities grasp. New weapons technology had come very far, allowing such equipment: such as the Freeze Blasters that can fire beams of cold atoms, thus slowly freezing anything the beam hits. Such technology is used for grenades as well.

Late in the year, though, a Paleozoic discovery was discovered in the Sahara Desert, deep in the sands . A massive fossil in the form of a giant slab of hard mud, about sixty meters in length and at least forty meters in height. Inside, seemingly a dead creature that was dried out and perfectly preserved.
Though, what creature could be this big?! Such a discovery baffled the world and raised question on life on earth. No creature was bigger then a Blue Whale, and the largest creature to ever live was Argentinasaurus. Yet here was proof of an even larger organism. What could it have been? With no way to get an X-Ray of something so large, and the mud like material, it was impossible to be one-hundred percent certain.

It was decided that the specimen would be moved by sea to the North America by tanker. Tow in line, it was transported over the Atlantic and over country, until it found its way to a research lab that stood afloat on Lake Erie.
Several Months went into researching the fossil, all the way into 2015. In that time, they managed to X-Ray the object piece by piece until they had a somewhat accurate image. It seemed to be some sort of crocodile or crocodile mimic dinosaur. Seemingly it was a couple of thousand years old, give or take. It was hard to be accurate with the mud and would take more time to get more accurate dating. Somthing this big living in such a recent time, was ominous.
Back over on the Sahara Desert, a second fossil of the same creature was found. This one was only a bone bed. It had the skull of the same creature, as well as small bone fragments. So it wasn’t alone… This was not some one of a kind, freak creature. This gave even more concern to the creatures existence.

In the middle of summer, when the lakes were warm, the research facility came under attack by a small extremist group that called themselves “Legions of The Pantheon”(LOP for short) that had a desire that humans were out of place with nature, and have become a cancer to the planet. It was a small group, not take seriously and only caused occasional damages to properties.
The facility on the lake had be accused of causing pollution to the lakes ecosystem as it floated on the lake. When protesting didn’t work, they took the more extreme alternative. The lab was bombed and badly damaged, and became half flooded with the lakes warm waters…
Unfortunately, so did the colossal fossil.
Naturally, no one expected a giant preserved specimen of a apparent dead to be affected too much but ordinary water. They were dreadfully wrong.
Upon inspection of the half sunk facility, the fossil had somewhat grown, absorbing water like a piece of wood. Everyone was worried there prized discovery was going to fall apart and sink into the lake. Instead, the cocoon slowly fell apart and revealed a very much alive animal, and very grouchy after waking up for a long hibernation.
At first, it floated in the lakes water in a dazed state. Slowly it was recovering.
Now all the worries and concerns about this animal turned into panic. Finding ancient remains of such a thing was one thing, but this monster was right here, right now, and right on the shore of Michigan.
It didn’t take long for the reptile to become fully aware of itself. Slowly it rose to a almost erect stance, and brought its for body down the already half destroyed facility, and dragged the building to a watery grave.

It didn’t take long for the menace to make its way through the lake, up the St. Claire River and to Detroit. The city witnessed a very large amount of destruction within six hours with an array of strange power that put the question of what this super animal was. Sucking in vast amounts of air, then releasing it at hurricane force gales. Extending its neck out and snatching buildings up, devouring chunks of them anything(or anyone) inside.
Eventually, military came in to try and destroy it, but with little effect. Guns, bombs, cannons, it all just simply didn’t seem to bother it. Its like they were absorbed by its hard and rubbery skin.
That is until the Freeze Weapons came into the scene. Each blast got the crocodiles attention and then some, angering it and making it retaliate violently.
After much battling and persistence, the creature retreated north to Lake Huron where it went deep.

The fallowing days, several meetings of man came together to discuss the dangerous matter at hand. Describing the creature, explaining it, of the main goal: How to get rid of it! After Detroit’s eastern end was nearly turned to ruble, cities nearby were worried if they were to be next.
However… After the short rampage, “Vastrato” as the creature was named, did not attack any other cities or cause any damage of any sort. It puzzled everyone. Why declare such an attack then completely ignore the target?
An explanation was offered when men of science came out to describe the animal. The explanation is that after such a long hibernation, that this specimen was in desperate need of nutrition and anxious after being surprised by such human structures, leading it to do what any animal would do: Lash out in defense.

From DNA that was recovered from it, it was a female creature, mature adult. A large debate was made to settle on what she is. Some say that she is a dinosaur, but the anatomy and DNA suggest otherwise. While she is Omni-pedal much like a spinoaurid such as Baryonyx or Suchomimus, the number of fingers suggested crocodile. Five fingers on both hands.
The argument against that was the back claws, that showed only three digits instead of a crocodiles four. Then that was quickly proven false, as another fossil over in the Sahara Desert showed that there was a fourth devolved claw in the heel of animals back foot. So in the end, Vastrato is believed to be more related to Crocodiles then any Dinosaur of any sort. Particularly land-crocodiles that have appeared in earths fossil record several times during before, and after the dinosaurs.

After about two weeks of no attacks, Vastrato has been seen in several times in Lake Huron and surrounding areas. With no sign of an attack, it has been decided that she is to be left alone so is not to provoke her into another rampage.

And here it is. At last. The total beginning oft he revamped VastratoVerse! Dun Dun Dun!
After much planning and going into detail, boucning ideas with CrimsonVagrant and general designing, I have at last finally gave life to my creation! ITS ALIVE! ITS ALLIIIVVEEE!!

Okay so lets talk here for a little bit. This is Vastrato. The new, FEMALE VASTRATO, and the main creature of my Verse. I decided female as it would be more original. Almost no female leading roles in this genre.
I also decided that at last what Vastrato is. A crocodile. Might as well, right? And yet almost nothing like suchodon.
I didnt color all of the pictures because I just didnt feel like coloring things that only show small details.
Colors have not changed very much. Generally the same dark dirt colors that Vastrato is well known for. And well done in the shading department too.

One note I wanna make is the Ranking system. While I havent full decided on how big it is, the lower the number, the more severe the monster. A nice twist on the whole Ranking monsters thing.

The story is a little anti climatic. But thats fine I think. Most monster stories start off with this gigantic bang, so I didnt want to do that general stereotyped thing.

With that, I hope you enjoy and put in great input to this.
